Marat Kogan is a trusted risk advisor with almost two decades of insurance placement experience, with previous tenures with national and boutique insurance brokers with commitment to deliver tailored risk management solutions with thoughtful, strategic planning, valuable professional services, and technology-based solutions. He believes that putting his clients first and maintaining the utmost level of professionalism on their behalf is a must that has never steered him wrong.
Marat is a graduate of St. John’s University, The Peter J. Tobin College of Business with a BBA in Risk Management & Actuarial Science. He also received the ACSRC and TRA designations – Accredited Customer Service Representative in Commercial Lines and TRA as Trusted Risk Advisor.
Marat lives in Brooklyn. He has two daughters; Alexandra, a passionate cheerleader/dancer and Zlata, a professional gymnast.
Yefim “Jeff” Podokshik
Director of Operations
Yefim “Jeff” Podokshik founded FFB in 1994 as a personal lines agency in Queens, NY. Today Jeff serves the company as Director of Operations while also personally overseeing a select group of clients.
Podokshik earned a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Belorus Technical University and an Associate Degree from TCI College of Technology in New York. He was a semi-professional boxer, and is an avid skier and outdoorsman. He and his wife live in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. They have two children and four grandchildren.
Meri Gorenova
Associate Director, Service Team Leader
Meri Gorenova leads the FFB service team that is responsible for the 99% client satisfaction rate. Ms. Gorenova’s oversight includes support, data management, underwriting compilations, and management of various systems that allows FFB to function seamlessly.
A graduate of Neofit Risliki in Bulgaria, Ms. Gorenova proficiently speaks multiple languages.
Ross VanDeventer
Vice President
Mr. Van Deventer is a Vice President at First Fidelity Brokerage with a focus on construction and habitational insurance placement within FFB. He has over a decade of experience in the challenging arena of New York. He gained his experience as a wholesale insurance broker in NY and has intimate day to day knowledge of the many challenges and pitfalls that can hinder successful placement of valuable insurance programs within construction and commercial real estate.
Ross is originally from Jacksonville, Florida and graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Risk Management and Insurance on full scholarship. After graduation, he set his sights on one of the most competitive and difficult sectors of wholesale insurance and has been successful there since coming north. He currently lives in the Upper West Side of Manhattan with his wife Vanessa and their yellow lab, Mazie. Ross is an avid sailor, surfer, and snowboarder although he admits the first two have taken a back seat since his move to the colder climate of New York
Rotha Maddox
Director of Products at ToughComp
Rotha Maddox is the Director of Products at ToughComp a division of First Fidelity Brokerage. Ms. Maddox manages the PEO (Professional Employee Organization) placements and the Workers Compensation Premium Recovery Audits team
With 30 years of experience, Ms. Maddox held various management and sales roles at several leading broadcasting companies including CBS, ABC, and NBC. Ms. Maddox is an avid reader and an aficionado with cross word puzzles. She is also a two term board member at TransOptions, a non-profit transportation group.
Alex Novoselski
Associate Director, Service Team Leader
Alex Novoselski leads the service team that provides FFB brokers with support services including underwriting, program marketing, claims and exposure analysis, policy administration and data management.
Mr. Novoselski graduated European University with a BBA in Banking and Financial Support Services.
Mark Muscatiello
Managing Director, Charter School Practice Leader
Mark Muscatiello brings almost fifteen years of school operations and management experience to his role at FFB. Prior to joining FFB, he spent eight years in school operations leadership at the Charter Management Organization Uncommon Schools, ending his tenure with the organization as Associate Chief Operating Officer.
Before joining Uncommon Schools, Mark was a founding member of the Urban Assembly Academy of Government and Law, a traditional public high school in New York City, where he served as Dean of Students. Mark holds a School Building Leader Certificate from Canisius College, a M.A. in Political Science from the Rockefeller College at the University at Albany and a B.A. in Political Science from the University at Albany.
